Tushar,

re: It seems that there are quite a few people here who would like Intel to be more forthcoming about these "other" businesses. Is there some way we can lobby for this to happen (and is this a good idea?)?

Obviously we could write IR, Andy Bryant and Craig Barrett but beyond that is there something else that can be done?

It is hard to figure how these division can lose so much money. I'm not sure I want to know the details, or want other investors to know the details. Intel sure is quiet about it.

The only way I know that you might be able to get Intel to disclose the information is to get it put on the ballot for the annual shareholders meeting. Not a hard process to start, but difficult to be successful, from what I've read. I think that a company has to disclose certain information if the division reaches 10% of total revenue, anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

I hope most of these companies still have some value, but judging by the P&L, I doubt it.

John

"Could that group really be losing most of this money?"

No.
That's why I suggested that Intel writes off many
of IAG expenses into "other" businesses. The motivation
is to sustain an image of success in its core business,
to lure more "investors" to believe in this image.
John Fowler is a typical victim (or a member of
Intel accounting team?), and fiercely disagree
with this "theory".
