Good point. And I don't even want to think about the constructive sale issue, but it would come into play here.

Further, we can safely assume that the expectation is that the put will expire and the call will be assigned since both strategies are neutral/bullish.

That would be my expectation if I were to enter this trade, but the way this market has been going the last year+ I certainly would not rule out the possibility of put assignment.

You guys are starting to make me feel like the Forrest Gump of the dummies thread. "Options are like a box of chocolates".

I think I'm going to shut up for a while (until I find time to read a book) and let someone else ask the dumb questions.
