Good if not perfect analogy. American's blacks have long identified with the captive Israelites. They live lives immeasurably better then their cousins in Africa.

flappy, What about the Jews in Egypt. You can not say they were not treated as slaves. You also fail to mention that most of the black African slaves were sold into slavery by rival black African chieftans. That, of course, does not excuse any kind of slavery, but you are picking and choosing the topics regarding slavery that you think pertinent, and leaving out others that are just as pertinent. That's OK. I have learned that no demo/lib can look at the whole picture, and must concentrate on the small segments that fit the Socialist handbook.
