Two points NEO
1) Yes we are currently at less than a third but the rate of growth over the last 40 years is alarming. We continue to see that more and more people are employed by the government and that the politicians want to take on more and more responsibilities. Health care etc. Plus they scream bloody murder at any thought of reducing their role. Only recently did they end the helium balloon program. The Bicentennial committee still exists.
2) Yes government services will cost but unfortunately they make little to no effort to reduce their costs. While companies have quickly adopted B2B exchanges to drive down costs and routinely lower their expenses the government costs continue to grow. They cannot reduce, not even 1 % in a decade. They took in double the tax revenue that they took in ten years ago. Would you argue that they doubled the services rendered ?

FInally yes we are still a capitalist nation but if the health care goes through we will no longer be. Hillary envisioned an entire new city filled with bureaucrats running the system. That would remove 15 % of the economy. It would also impact research and development by Pharamceutical companies etc

We cannot be complacent in viewing this especially as all these new immigrants will vote for the collective pocket.

less than a third
So how much gov't theft should we tolerate? 50% 57% 2/3? 90% 99%?

"Gas taxes in European country X are (fill in an outrageous number) a gallon". Is this justification for submitting to yet more theft? I think not, yet just this sort of argument is commonly advanced.

If the Europeans decided to nuke themselves, should we follow their example?

At some an argument has to stand on its own legs. Or fall.

I see. You differentiate between being pregnant or just a "little bit" pregnant.
