2/3rds of African- Americans are more or less middle class, and even the poor are better off than most of their brethren in the bush..........

>>So what you're saying, if I read you right, is that African-Americans in the U.S. today should be thankful they're living wonderful lives in wonderful places ...
like housing projects in Chicago or Los Angeles ... rather than living in Africa? <<

I didn't see that he said that at all but:

I bet this, given a choice between a housing project in the US or Chad in Africa, the housing project person would choose the project. Given the choice between a housing project in the US or Chad in Africa, a majority of Chad residents would choose the projects.

Oh and by the way, not all people living in the projects are African-American, AND not all African American's live in the projects. That was a VERY stereotypical statement that you made.

Jim

Taking the Babylonian side in the Babylonian/Israelite conflict is taking anti-Semitism to a new level. To claim, as you did, that the Babylonians did the Israelites a favor by destroying their capital, smashing the Temple of God, murdering ¾ of the citizens and dragging the rest 600 miles away to the Rivers of Babylon is, well breathtaking. I don’t think even evil Adolph had the chutzpa to go that far.

In addition, archaeological evidence suggests the scope of the Babylonian Captivity was greatly exaggerated in the Bible, and that, in fact, the Jews who were forced to Babylon (and their descendants) were much better off in Babylon than in Jerusalem.

Archaeological digs in the area of ancient Babylon have turned up evidence that that the Jews in the Babylonian exile were not enslaved, but in fact led comfortable, upper-middle-class lives.
