I do not disagree with anything you say. We will become a social democratic (socialism lite) country if they nationalize the healthcare industry, even with private players, since they will be so heavily regulated. Costs have risen beyond services rendered by government. I would get rid of some departments, like education, labor, and commerce, and consolidate their residual legitimate functions, such as the accumulation of statistics, in lesser bureaus. I would have sunset provisions in all programmatic legislation, so that it took explicit renewal to continue with the programs, at regular intervals. I would try to eliminate regulatory functions in the federal government that duplicate state regulation, including most environmental regulation. So, I am not complacent (I gave money to the RNC just this morning), and my aspirations involve actual rollback. But I am not, on the other hand, completely alienated or despairing or unduly militant......

Ron, I have said before Health Care is the key. It really is the last barricade of freedom. When government controls health care they control everything.

FInally yes we are still a capitalist nation but if the health care goes through we will no longer be.
