Dear Tench:

The RCM tool is software that loads onto your PC and allows you to configure any Alphaserver. It also lists prices (the version I used had a date of Jun 16 2001) for each option configured in a bill of materials like section. The number was what was given for a 1 GB ECC SDRAM for the GS320 Alphaserver. It is distributed as a downloadable as an exe file (about 2MB). It is amazing just how big you can make a server as far as disk and network ports. I configured a GS320 the same as the one in that TPCm quote. The price was somewhat less (about 50K) for the hardware than the one in TPCm. "Quicker, smaller, cheaper" in action again.
