Hey Thomas; I don't think that they would ask for a halt merely to announce problems.

They have had "problem" announcements since last November without halts.

My guess is it is basically good news and the halt makes sure that it gets noticed by the wire services.

Besides there must be a theatrical term for this perhaps "dramatic pause" or some such thing.

After all is time it would be anticlimatic to just come out and "Hey we found oil!!<G>

Later

Keith

PS I wonder how the seller at Peters is feeling now?

Well Boys,

I only have one concern and that is the web advisory put out late yesterday about the down hole pump.

WEDNESDAY JULY 18, 2001
COPY OF A COMM-ALERT NOTIFICATION
SENT OUT TO AREA RESIDENTS

RE: Stampede Turner Valley 2-34-20-3 W5M

"This is Stampede Oils calling with a current weekly information update bulletin regarding its Turner Valley 2-34-20-3 W5M well. This is an information bulletin only, not an emergency situation. We repeat, not an emergency situation.

This is to advise that inline testing of the well is now being conducted involving the use of a downhole pump and a temporary hydraulic pumping unit on the wellhead. All produced gas and fluids are going directly by pipeline to the nearby field battery. Air monitoring is being carried out as required at six fixed sites around the well and from two mobile vans in the ERP zone.

Stampede will continue to provide weekly updates while wellsite operations continue.
Should you have any questions or require any additional information please call Stampede's Calgary office at (403) 265-6166.

Press 1 to replay the message. Press 3 to confirm receipt of the message. If you do not press 3, the system will call you back.

Thank you."

If the flow is 1000 bpd or more why would a pumping unit be installed.Would anyone with strong oil patch experience care to answer or explain the above?
