THQ Inc (THQI) 54.92 -1.96: Reports Q2 earnings of $0.15 a share, $0.02 better than consensus, vs a yr-ago loss of $0.14; revenues increased 70% to $55.2 mln (consensus $49.2 mln). Company sees 2001 earnings of $1.38-$1.47 (consensus $1.43).

Microsoft (MSFT) 72.57 +2.00: Reports Q4 earnings of a penny, which includes a non-cash charge related to investment impairments; unclear from the release what the EPS number is which would be comparable to the $0.43 consensus (the $0.44 figure cited by CNBC is the year-ago). Company guides down for Sep qtr - sees revenue of $6.0-6.2 mln vs Multex consensus of $6.4 bln; EPS of $0.39-0.40 vs $0.45 consensus.

Inktomi (INKT) 5.08 -0.62: Reports Q3 loss of $0.17 a share, $0.01 better than the First Call consensus of ($0.18); revenues fell 31.1% to $39.56 mln vs. consensus of $38.3 mln; see press release.

Manhattan Assoc (MANH) 26.48 +0.43: Company reports Q2 net of $0.18 a share, in line with consensus, vs yr-ago EPS of $0.15; revenues increased 4.3% to $36.1 mln (Multex consensus $38.7 mln). MANH projects SeptQ earnings of $0.18-$0.21 (consensus $0.20) and DecQ earnings of $0.20-$0.23.

TriQuint Semi (TQNT) 21.82 +1.19: Company reports June quarter earnings of $0.03 per share, in line with consensus ests; reports revs for the quarter of $60.7 mln vs. consensus est of $60.4 mln; Sawtek (SAWS) became a wholly owned subsidiary of TQNT on July 19, 2001; SAWS reports June quarter earnings of $0.06 per share, one penny worse than consensus; reports revs of $18.8 mln vs. consensus of $17.6 mln; see press release.
