Gateway (GTW) 14.59 -0.88: Reports a Q2 loss of $0.02 a share, $0.01 worse than consensus, vs yr-ago loss of $0.01; revenues fell 32% to $1.5 bln. Company expects to approximately break even on a pre-tax income basis the second half of 2001.

Compuware (CPWR) 13.36 +0.59: Reports Q1 earnings of $0.12 a share, $0.01 better than the First Call consensus of $0.11, vs year-ago earnings of $0.09; revenues fell 13.1% to $446.75 mln (vs $448 mln Multex consensus) from a year-ago of $513.87 mln.

eBay (EBAY) 64.40 -2.14: Company reports pro forma consolidated net income of $0.12 per share, three cents better than consensus; Q2 revs reported at $180.9 mln vs. $164.8 mln; "eBay now believes that consolidated net revenues in the second half of 2001 could be as much as $15-$30 million higher than previously indicated, or as much as $385-$400 million for the remainder of 2001. Pro forma diluted earnings per share over the next two quarters could be as much as $0.01-$0.02 higher than current consensus expectations, or as much as $0.21-$0.22 for the remainder of 2001." .

Nortel Networks (NT) 7.75 +0.17: Reports Q3 loss of $0.48, in line with First Call estimate; revenue from continuing operations was $4.6 bln; company will not provide guidance for Sep qtr due to limited visibility.
