There were two slides. The one you are referring two is the outdated slide from the Analyst Conference in November which had the pink dot at 3.0. Then, six month later, at the Shareholder meeting Hammer was postponed by half a year. If the pink dot had stayed at 3.0 it would have fallen beyond the 'Moore's Law' line in the graph. So AMD changed it to 3.4 and it matched again with performance doubling every 18 months. The funny thing is that Chuck made a post back in November or December saying that Hammer's performance wouldn't look so spectacular any more if the pink dot wandered to the left ... and guess what it did.
