Transmeta (TMTA) 3.80 -0.01: Reports Q2 loss of $0.14 a share, in line with the First Call consensus of ($0.14); revenues rose 2866.1% to $10.50 mln from a year-ago of $0.35 mln; Transmeta expects revenue for the third quarter of 2001 to be flat to down 15% compared to second quarter revenue of $10.5 million; see press release.

Company reaffirms guidance of products/services revenue growth of 45-50% year/year for each remaining qtr of 2001.

Molecular Devices (MDCC) 19.50 +0.29: Reports Q2 earnings of $0.15 a share, in line with the First Call consensus of $0.15, vs year-ago earnings of $0.31; revenues fell 0.2% to $23.98 mln from a year-ago of $24.04 mln. Company sees Q3 earnings of $0.12-$0.14 and full yr net of $0.61-$0.65 vs consensus estimates of $0.18 and $0.68, respectively.
