"can tolerate deep fades since it isn't power controlled except for cell-breathing"

And soft handoffs, the 3-6dB mythical saviour of GPS
synhronized but too large cells.

But if one walks slowly in the right spots it might be
great??

That faded handset should, I assume, try to reconnect,
start shouting at the cocktail party??

Going 30-70 miles an hour, quarter wavelength some
7 cm, chip-chip-chop,deep fades or perfect rake receiver adaption
must be pretty fast, lots of MIPS, in two different directions, to get
the power control information.

Faster than the 8kHz voice data can provide update
and tracking information for??

Pretty much like reading a weekly magazine, two days
old, to follow, track the daily variations of the
market??
