But really, going forward, the past magic of using frequency as a draw card is dead. AMD/Intel must change their marketing techniques in the future in a very radical way.

FWIW I would suggest tho that upgrading into a Gigahertz world would be most helpful.

Stak, maybe Jim needs to change his motto to "MHz sells ... at a given price."

That's part of it. The price cuts are absolute. The price for MHz remains relative.
If you had a choice would you prefer to sell higher Mhz or lower Mhz chips relative to your competition?

AMD made hay when they had the highest MHz chips. Now Intel has them sandwiched..between the P-III and P4.
