No doubt about it. But PR ratings use some arbitrary set of benchmarks and can't be trusted. Operations per second is just as absolute as MHZ, and a better indication of processor power.

Intel might not be too put off by it, either, since acceptance of such a standard would help them market the wide-issue Itanium.
