that is interesting, I did not know that intel sold 45 million chips this quarter. PC market is booming then
I think he was talking about $$$ market share though - 17% sounds right

survivin,

Re: "clueless" interview w/heads of AMD marketing/branding

Wow! That sure goes a long way towards explaning why we've never seen any significant, much less competent, activity around AMD spreading the word on their superior technology when it would have benefitted them most. These guys put Abbot and Costello to shame. Only the AMD shorts are laughing, though. The real mystery for me is why these guys haven't been marched out the door at AMD so fast that they'd get *windburn*. If I were that clueless, I'd fire myself out of embarrassment. It only makes sense if these guys were planted in their jobs by Intel ;-)

Survivin, Re: Check out this interview with Amd's directors of mktg and corporate branding.

This confirms my suspicion that AMD's marketing department doesn't have any real strategy or ambition to launch effective campaigns. With the Internet banner market in the toilet right now, they could buy millions of ad impressions for a very good price. I believe there was never a better opportunity to advertise in the Internet than now.
