Having perused bear threads for a long time, I have come to the conclusion that the biggst fear in the minds of many bears is missing the next big rally. I suspect this reflects the fact that so many of them sat out the the huge runnup of the late 1990s.

I cannot see a major stock market trough until at least the bears stop worrying about missing the next rally.

At real bottoms most invesotrs truly HATE stocks and are far more worried about further losses than missing the next rally. We are a long way from that point IMHO.
