Thanks for your response. But the request was to elaborate on how gun registration conflicted with the 1st amendment.

What you've done is quoted me the 1st and made a comment on the first: "right of the people to assemble peaceably and petition the government for a redress of grievances"

has been interpreted by the Supreme Court as an individual right. You don't want to give that up.

I agree, with the quote, the court's interpretation and agree that I don't want to infringe on that right.

The next time you mention the first.....you say.
Including, to return to the central point of your question, the rights guaranteed under the First Amendment.

So you've really never said anything about how gun registration conflicts with the first.

You've offered some additional thoughts on the 4th.
Registration amounts to an unreasonable search.

An alleged statement of fact with nothing to support it. There are in fact some gun registration laws in the US. I don't recall ever seeing any of them challenged on 4th amendment grounds. We have car registration, if "Registration amounts to unreasonable search" that's a 4th amendment violation. [no requirement to infringe on two amendments, car registration would infringe on one.]

It seems I need to make the point again, that in US v Miller the Court cites various historical documents to establish the intent of the Framers on the 2nd amendment. Those documents pretty clearly point to the need to know whether the militia is prepared by knowing whether the individual has the proper equipment, including guns and ammunition. So it doesn't look like the Framers saw any conflict with the First or the Fourth.
