>the company ran itself so deeply into a hole in an effort to grow sales at all costs in 1999
I find this ironic. Why were these companies trying to grow sales at any cost?
Because that's what Wall Street demanded from these CEO's.
I've read so many articles lately criticizing these companies management yet all they were really doing is marching to Wall Streets drum.
>However, Jim's record is not so stellar!
Jim writes a lot for MSN about tech. So, other than the short-sellers who's record in tech is stellar these days?

AMZN continues to defy the mkt

bigcharts.com

Maybe earnings will dent this run!

BTW: These days, there are only 3 online sources to buy from:
a) yahoo shopping (from merchants rated "top service")
b) amazon.com
c) ebay

Of the 3, amazon has the best service but usually not the best price (for books and music, I dont bother to shop around)
Of course JMHO.
