Dabum, re VRSN. My short on these guys is probably intermediate term.

I've been shorting them since their pre-split days, and even got a few north of $200. Unfortunately I covered those well north of $150 - too bad as I could have simply forgotten the rest of this market mumbo-jumbo and retired on this one if I had piled on and just stayed the course.

The company has a crumbling monopoly on registering domain names, and in my opinion a comparatively worthless security business. They also have a lot of "cash" on their books - but as we've been slowly finding out with the rest of the tech implosion that "cash" is often times stocks in other worthless concerns. I'm betting that accounting rules, and a possible writedown of the "cash", are going to make their already sorry quarterly statements look even worse.

Their market cap should be closer to $1 billion than $9 billion. I'm going to wait a while longer for that day, although I'll probably partially cover in the $30's.

Thanks for the input.
