There was no downward follow-thru in the averages either Thursday (when we were all sure Wednesday night that Thursday would be horrible), and Friday after the futures were telegraphing disaster.

Many stocks coming unglued the past couple days have been of companies that have yet to report and who have displayed terrific relative strength to date. I have been watching Verisign closely, and Peregrine. Both broke down quickly at strike prices (also natural stop-loss points), and recovered smartly. Both on rumors.

The first-hour volume Thursday was very heavy, and we have just closed the gap on the low Friday.
