How do they compare to those used by leftists? Could be a Ph.D. thesis in political science here.

I think the right has it won hands down. One of the more recent ones out of Rush was comparing some Democrat [don't recall which one] to "Satan". Ok, heck with Rush, let's got directly to the leadership. I've particularly gotten a kick out the fine Senator Lott...taking the opposing position of the House [moderate conservatives and liberals] and asserting they are racist, unilateralist and isolationists...[ I haven't read the thread here lately...is that what we can call playing the race card.

Your turn for the left.
Ah, but a 57% rate isn't going to improve my quality of life- -it'as going to decrease it. Significantly. Make sense now?
Oh, and how do you define "quality of life"? And, equally important. how do you measure it? You need a way of knowing whether you've increased or decreased it by raising taxes. Have such measurements been done in Europe

4 or 5 years ago I might have agreed with you, but it isn't clear to me that's the case. Quality of life is a tough definition to acquire. Precisely, is impossible. I've posted a number of extracts [anecdotally and statistically] on the subject earlier which compared the major economic countries, western Europe and Japan. I thought the comparison were interesting and deserve some attention, others thought differently. On the other hand I could accept your point, how do you "know" that the US is better. I think GDP falls rather short of answering the question.

Nice to see that conservatives are not the ONLY ones who know how to practice intentional obtuseness.
I thought it was clear that that was a comment, not a proposed definition.

Your comment was clear, but it avoided the implicit question. So I thought I'd force it back on you.

The Declaration of Independence, while certainly a euphonious document that has inspired numerous other similar efforts (with both good and bad outcomes), is actually not a legal document that has force of law.

Not a legally binding document, but does it lend itself to application as an instrument of the intent of the Framers? I think it does.
