Snowshoe, We have over 100 folks in the course from varied backgrounds. A few are former brokers from other firms, but most have never really worked in the financial world before. I am the only one who has ever managed serious money, though that is to be expected. Your broker was not recommending Compaq back then because it wasn't on his list. In order to help newbies do business, the firms send them out with a few ideas where they won't get hurt or hurt the client. To be fair, that is better than letting a newbie pick stuff at random. Slightly. <g>
