The fact that foreign markets keep printing new lows does not help the bull case. The US is not a pillar of strength or an island of tranquility. The tech industry is in upheaval, and the market should reflect that. I don't believe it does yet.

I believe we are still a way from even rose-colored reality in the Nasdaq, but we may get there pretty soon.

Catalysts?Mmmmm...how about whatever spin the marketeers what to devise. I do not mean to be a "Joker". I truly believe that this market's controlled ascent or decline is in the hands of technical spin mavricks whose sole purpose is fooling the next mavrick into thinking the contrary. Mom and Pop (day-traders included) HAVEN'T A CLUE! I know I am out on limb with this thought-maybe out for lunch too,but whatever technical analysis one follows long enough one must eventually come to the conclusion that the game is not on a level playing field. One would need to know many things here to more accurately guess the outcome. The most critical,I believe,is the daily inflows and outflows of $ in the funds. Here therein lies the crust of this mantra. I do not have this info, but believe there are those who do(at least enough to hedge their bets)
Catalysts?... You guess is as good as mine. But the "predictors" of past, I have notice of late, to be as confused as the novices.

James i can see no catalyst,i just see a straining artificial attempt by institutions to hold the line against disaster.
Hear quite a few saying, explosive move coming one way or the other.
But i see an explosive move down or a continued desperate action to just keep popping this up and down in a tight trading range.
This remains a broken market that is fighting that reality, imo.max
