If anyone can figure out how to get government out of the money business, I'm all for it. Debasing the currency used to be a capital offense, except when the king did it. Seniorage is another racket (the price you pay the government to have your gold stamped into a coin). I like the idea of Bart, the supercomputer, but what would that do to the black market? And how could we hide money in our sock drawers, and under trees? (I know, I know, gold.) We need cash - I need cash - to put in an envelope and hide under my son's pillow so I can say that the tooth fairy came in the night while he was sleeping. Grandma needs cash to put into a birthday card. I need cash when the local high school band kids come to the door collecting donations for their uniforms. I need cash to hand to the homeless guy begging in front of the American History Museum. Gold won't do, and Bart won't do. Negotiable pieces of paper with numbers on them is perfect.

We'll figure it out, eventually.

Anyway, I'm being bad. I have a final exam Monday. Later.

It's a beautiful day, too beautiful to spend reading about Nazis.:(
