It has been a good year for the blimp – the five-hatted bloat.
Vajpayee has done everything not to stir up the quick-fire emotions of Pakistani Govt. and Pakistanis on Kashmir. He invited President Musharraf to come to Delhi, not because he believed that he will reach an agreement with the Pakistani on Kashmir, but because he want to make a measure of the man. Musharraf readily accepted the invitation and elevated himself to the position of the President not because he believed that Kashmir issue was going to be solved, but because he wanted to keep the international lending agencies and Uncle Sam in good humor. The summit is claimed a qualified success, because both of them achieved their objectives.
Vajpayee’s unilateral cease-fire was a prelude to the invitation, soothing the nerves of the Pakistanis and facilitating Pakistanis to receive the dole from IMF thereby preventing the sinking of Pakistan. India will not do anything to aggravate Pakistan. Pakistan by itself without Indian help will do it for themselves. The Indians will have to just sit it out.

The Indians, the media, the Govt., and the military gave the President more than the demands of protocol. They even let the President upstage and do one-up on the Indians in the sneaky broadcast of the news conference to Pakistan and the invitation of the Kashmir elements to High tea.

The Indians bloated the ego of the Pakistanis, the Pakistani media and the President to a go-bust level that they didn’t even realize that they are being measured, gauged, weighed and categorized.
