Herb - Re: "AMDers were continually claiming that a great quarter was in store for AMD and a dismal one for Intel. AMD stock price was headed skyward. You were guilty on that score too, weren’t you? "

During that lofty time, McMannis reminded us how "little" Intel stock he really owned.

I guess his Intel holdings have suddenly become greater than his AMD holdings - without buying any more Intel !

Herb,
RE:"Then again, throughout this past quarter AMDers were continually claiming that a great quarter was in store for AMD and a dismal one for Intel."

I think we have enough Engles here already.
Foolhardy to paint all AMD stockholders with the same brush.

RE:"AMD stock price was headed skyward. You were guilty on that score too, weren’t you?"

I don't know about skyward. Better talk to NG about that one.

RE:"Especially after June was over and no AMD change in guidance. You guys thought you were home free. Well lightning struck just one week before Q2 Earnings"...

You guys? I admit I did feel a bit better when June passed with no warning. Still nervous though.

RE:"Announcement Day and Jerry lowered the boom. The stock price dropped a ton but you guys fell in line as is the AMD way and focused on Intel negatives ignoring your own losses claiming Intel stuffed the channel, etc."

I never said anything about stuffing the channel. When AMD warned I got a sinking feeling about Intel. I doubt too many serious investors wished for Intel to have bad earnings.

RE:"All the while you knew that Jerry knowing full well that April and May as you would put it was in the toilet was lining his own pockets. I don’t understand how you can be so forgiving. But it’s your money."

I'm not so forgiving. As a matter of fact I've been one of the major AMD critics over the last 9 months.
Had AMD excecuted as planned there wouldn't have been this lag. Now it will take another Q for improved earnings at least. Despite the Y2K bust, AMd could have done a lot better without the delays.

RE:"Jim, how do you stand on the winners and losers poll? Seems like you have been a loser for a long time. Huh?"

I've lost about 40% of my Intel investment. Much less worse on AMD despite the recent drop.
My largest holdings are oil related. I suspect I've done a lot better than you over the last 10 months....especially if you have been in losers like Intel.

Jim

AMD has been a crapy stock to hold over the past year.
Intel has been a crapy stock to hold over the past year.
TECH have been crappy stocks to hold over the past year.

Any question?

And all you guys can do is to argue which one crapier! AMD or INTC, Pretty sad. Price wars between AMD and INTC as well as the rest of the semi sector have evaporated billions of net worth.

Paul can taunt AMD investors all he wants, but it does nothing to recuperate all the money he has lost in AMD and INTC. That is just as useful as his retroactive trades.
