Glenn, the explanation lies no farther than your beloved Amazon. The traditional retailers were downgraded by every moron analyst when the B2C idiocy started 3 years ago. Since Amazon was getting into the appliance business, the idiot analysts assumed that Sears would die because everyone would buy their refrigerators and dishwashers on line.

I was so obsessed with my short Amazon position that I was not looking at other possibilities. There were some real bargains in the retail sector at that point in time.
