Fab utilization is treacherously low, and recovery is not expected until well into next year, leaving many manufacturers weak and vulnerable, according to analysts at Dataquest Inc., San Jose. The analysts were in San Francisco last week addressing a crowd of nervous chip manufacturing equipment executives at SEMICON/West 2001.... BP
