If AMZN tumbles, it's a long-term play for a substantial drop. The 7.5 puts would still turn a nice profit until expiration if the stock drops to 8-9 soon enough.

Here is more number-crunching on AMZN: latimes.com

Looking at THQI for a shorter-term near the money put play, just for a retracement.

Update on AMZN Jan 7.5 puts - bought at .85 now 1.15 on the bid. If/when AMZN tumbles to single digits in the near future (it didn't rally with the Naz at all today) I would expect the puts to move up near $2 range for a double.

I see the Aug 17.5 puts had a nice return since then too - did you get some in the end?

Hope you bought those AMZN puts for your IRA after all - the Jan 7.5's are hitting the sweet spot in % gain terms today, more than a double from the .85 entry.

CHL also coming apart and worth looking at for those who want more year-end shorts.
