Re: Motherboard manufacturers have recently squeezed a dual-channel DRDRAM motherboard down to 4 layers

There's more to the cost of a motherboard than the number of layers (though that's probably the most important single factor).

P4 motherboards are still $50 to $75 more expensive than Athlon boards - and now that P4 systems are competing in the sub $1,000 system price range, that's quite significant.

Win XP has fundamental flaw

theinquirer.net

Does anybody know anything about this?

This can be very bad news for computer/semi stocks. This can explain the sudden change of mood at MS. First they proudly announced that they will exceed the revenue forecasts in the just past quarter, but then two weeks later lowered the targets for the rest of the year.

Something caused them to reevaluate the rest of the year. Otherwise they would have lowered the rest of the year forecast during the first announcement.
