Paul,

Here is an update on my AMD hardware situation. I upgraded my Athlon/DDR box to 512MB of production Crucial memory (it previously had an engineering sample DIMM,) and installed Windows XP. This has completely fixed the stability problems I was having for both that box and the Duron box connected to it over the network.

XP is great, and seems to require less memory than ME did. It should be a big help for the PC industry, as it is a real operating system. My only complaint is that the Wordpad shipped with ME does not support .doc files anymore. Microsoft seems to be forcing people to buy Word.
