I would say that the population group we are discussing is the approximately 50% of the Democratic party that is not part of the mainstream. Yes, they are making inroads into making mainstream thought think that tyranny is good and freedom is bad, but I think the tide is ebbing out. But the group under study is surely aware of the fact that they want to be the tyrants. But if we are talking about the typical SI demolib poster, then yes, they are just ignorant.
