Yes there are! But there are so many unscrupulous people out there that I limit my buying to Amazon.com and to stores labelled "top service" by yahoo shopping. That lowers the probability that I will be ripped off!
In fact, e-stores are now beginning to brag that they are rated "top service" by yahoo!!

You have a point. The ability to work out of one's garage, basement, etc. and sell on the net, has brought a lot of under capitalized and no scrupulous (I wish I could spell)people into the fray. They take the money and kind of dissappear.

It seems like a safe bet with most well established firms Amazon being one. Barnes and Noble, Pennys, etc. They are safe bets.
