Archer Daniels Midland Company Announces Expanded Ethanol Capacity

DECATUR, Ill., Jul 27, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- With the completion of several projects at its corn refining plants, Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) will have by the fourth quarter of 2001 the capacity to annually supply up to 950 million gallons of fuel ethanol. These projects enable the Company additional flexibility in shifting production between ethanol and other starch-based products including sweeteners and lysine to meet market demands and improve shareholder returns. Plans are under consideration for similar projects in the coming year.
