"Sorry, but you are wrong. Everything I post is my opinion. Religion is just a matter of opinion or human interpretation for me. That's how most people feel in the U.S."

# are you saying minority opinions are unpopular and therefore wrong?

"I know this bothers the religious fundamentalists in your home state."

# so, they are rigid and intolerant, unlike yourself who adheres to more popular opinions as correct.

"Too bad. I don't have to pay homage to or cow tow to
other people's beliefs. "

# But other people should, if they wish to hold majority (correct) opinions. (would that be Kow Tow or was that a state-pun(t)-down)

"I do, however, have to be tolerant of other people's beliefs and reserve their right to state their contrary opinion and allow them to practice the religion of their choice "

# This is too bad. I am sure it is source of constant irritation. If you were relieved of this stricture would it be more convenient and to push a button and get rid of people with narrow views?

".. as long as it does not intrude upon other people's beliefs and values, practically speaking."

# which in its expression, it may (intrude), if the majority feels threatened.

"I welcome other points of view,"

# as foolish as they may be. What about the view that other points of view may not be welcome?

" in contrast to you, even if they run counter to my own beliefs."

# which are inherently correct.

# I am glad you are so broad minded. It is refreshing to hear that the liberal's burden of patiently enduring the narrow minded conservatives is not just a temporary manoeuvre for the sake of arguement.

# I guess what you are saying is that dissent should not erase the right of dissenters to hold their unpopular or wrong opinions. There could be some logical conundrums there if the ethical base of the opinion held that dissent with it was inherently immoral and should be punished. In fact few people who hold strong opinion of how life should be lived according to any kind of higher moral order than man's mere constructs i.e. that does not depend on deus ex logicus proprietum ordere, are willing to concede that opposing opinion is safe to disseminate in or ex cathedra.

INHO (and if it is not also the majority, then we are going to hell in a handbasket,) the only way to reconcile such fundamental differences is to outlaw religion as too dangerous to practice in a peaceful society or to select different planetoids in order to practice different religions or philosophies.

EC<:-} P.S., I get earth for my panetheistic, "if you are a good looking ex-planetary alien sex fiend with more advanced weaponry, you get to choose girfriends first", sci-fi religio-philosophy.

Nor should any religion, even views on gold, be mocked but you are deeply wrong that I don't welcome or respect the views of others. In posting that your thoughts should be posted as opinion I am respecting the views of others.
