Please note, earnings for the energy companies aren't going to be the catalyst for upward movements of the share prices.

Energy companies going forward will have to lower estimates due to lower commodity prices. These companies will be going against record earnings on a Q over Q in the future, at a time when commodity prices have declined significantly.

In addition to this, Tuesday evening the API reports on crude inventories. The reports in recent weeks have been very bearish.

Be nimble with the trigger finger if you're going to play energy for a bounce. Take profits often.

PS - Edit: Offshore drillers should do better than land drillers if the OSX is going to rally.

Superb Idea from my perspective.
fair numbers of Aug puts at 15 as well.
That should limit the downside (I hope) although we are a month away from expiry now.

Any reason to NOT buy this Monday?

Earnings tuesday and 2 (mysterious) downgrades on Friday.
Huge reversal volume as well.
