flap, The old ex-union farts that I have met, and there are many, are experienced enough to know that they got screwed by paying union dues all those years, and getting nothing they could not have gained on their own. Perhaps when age, and wisdom, finally strikes you, you will know the truth. Somebody is paying you. Union punks do not show up for work unless there is a paycheck in the offing. Either you are getting paid a salary by your union, and your employer, or one or both are paying you under the table to tilt the balance in negotiations.Your type is not going to work for free. The management work ethic, is to work every hour necessary to keep the corporate ship afloat so people like that single mom can earn enough of a living to support her kids in a decent, and comfortable, manner. That has been known to extend to 24, or more, hours at a stretch depending on what needed to be done. You don't know what being "ethical" where work is concerned means.
