The GOP has been amazingly restrained in response to the Democrat's wall around Condit. We all know that had Condit been a Republican the media and the Dem's would not stop until he was forced to resign. We also know that the GOP would never stand up and defend the type of conduct Condit has exhibited as Daschle and Gephardt have done. The Dem leadership defend such conduct - the witness tampering etc - with sophistry and blather. The do it out of political calculation, nothing greater. Finding Levy has little weight in their calculation, if any. They know Condit is over, they just want to secure his seat. As you implied in the past, the young woman is likely no longer alive. Given that, perhaps it is best now that the GOP watch as the Dem's actions exact a toll on the Dem's fortunes.
