If you have been following the news recently you will know that Intel is going to make a big push to replace PIII with P4 in corporate PCs when Brookdale comes.

It's an even more pathetic result for AMD that they weren't able get into corporate desktops when they had a huge advantage over the PIII in clock speed and processor price. Intel is selling 866MHz PIIIs for ~$140 and Compaq is selling it in their corporate systems. The 1.4GHz Athlon is selling for ~$160 and AMD is shut out. BTW, it is clear the Athlon is priced to compete with the P4...
