I am not too sure about that. I think that these symbols you are talking are only internal to the eTrade and others companies. I think the best person to ask might be Wayne Agee as he has experienced a lot with pruchasing canadian juniors and knows his way around.

<P.S. why did you change website URL?>

What do you mean ?

gold_tutor, most if not all of the Canadian traded miners have alternate OTC-BB names, but not all US brokers provide access to all of these, e.g. Datek will allow me to trade only GBGLF,METLF, MAENF, and MNEFF, whereas TD Waterhouse will allow all to be traded. I get the impression that the price of OTC-BB trading of these stocks often includes the higher commission that the market maker must pay to buy and sell on the Canadian exchanges as well as profit for himself.

TD Waterhouse's Greenline division allows you to trade directly on the Canadian exchanges, but only by phone and with high commissions. If you are already with TD Waterhouse, you can switch to a dual US/Canada account quickly by phone, especially if you have Greenline make the change for you. Having gone through this whole process myself, a much better alternative IMO is to open an account at penntrade.com.

Valutrader is correct in all aspects of his response to you. The symbols are BB symbols that are not reconised by all brokers. Etrade does allow all symbols, however if you talk to them they will tell you to call them with the symbol and exchange and they will give you a better quote than you can get from NAZ. This is true, but you have to call them which is a pain especially if they are busy.

I found penntrade to be the best so far in reqards to felxability and performance. They cost more than etrade but you can do it online......
