Jim_p, the locusts hit but were promptly drowned in the Houston flood. Hope your area stayed dry.

I owe you a hearty thanks as I closed 1/2 of my KWK short today at the remarkable price of $12.50. That's a 7 point ride! The crazy thing is now back around $13.40 and I'm thinking of popping it again. Have a cyber beer on me Sir.

Tried to nail PENG, but Schwab would have nothing of it. No puts either. Have you been able to find shares to short?

Looks like I've overstepped my bounds on the housing short thing with everyone asking me for ideas. I've only shorted LEN so far, and don't pretend to know much about the sector. I based my move on the excess construction I see every day around town, their chart on a multi-year basis, their PSR relative to their peers, and the general market malaise that gets all stocks sooner or later. Other than that, and the weak evidence from the radio advert, it's a gamble.

Shorting tech is much more my style, I just love the smell of double digit PSRs, PEs that only exist in pro-forma, and Q over Q revenue drops of 40% (ala JNPR), and no hopes whatsoever of recovery any time soon. Throw in a price war from a well capitalized and run competitor, and BANG! you're dead.
