*OT* I have a special admiration for Armstrong. We both suffered the same disease but his almost killed him. It is simply amazing that he could come back from the door of death to win the Tour twice, let alone what he is doing now. I know of no greater story in sport than this one. His memoir is well-worth a read. I read it in the depths of my despair over cancer and it gave me hope. What a guy!

Hi JRI,

If he wins the Tour again this year, and SI doesn't make him "Sportman of the Year", there is truly no justice in the sporting world.

If not Armstrong, how about Reinhold Messner for lifetime achievement?
