Chas,

I believe that God did make man in His own image, but no one can say what God looks like. From incidents in the Bible, He can change His appearance at will. IMO, the conception that God looks like a normal human man, as depicted in most art, is foolish. He is omnipotent, and omnipresent. Also, in my, unschooled opinion, the soul in man is the part of God that distinguishes us from the other species, and that our physical bodies may not be the image of God. That is something no one will know until they meet their Maker.

God is not, and never has been, the root of much evil. It has been men that have twisted the words of the Bible in order to try and justify their wars, persecutions, and fanaticism. The root of all evil, IMO, lies in the hearts, and minds, of men.
