russett, my compatriots cannot be depended on for anything, except messing up the place.

However, I don't see how they can or will strike for a long time. The mine management will surely back down and give them what they ask for. Anglo American always plays both sides of the street --- while pretending to be 100% capitalist, the company is always is ready to make deals with communists, especially black ones. More than anything, AAC will not blot its copybook with the ANC.

So, don't get too excited that there will be a big hold-up in gold production which will squeeze the bears who are short of 20,000 tonnes and they will have to buy in and this will drive POG into the heavens. That "goldbug dream scenario" simply will not happen. Sorry!
