Health insurance, like any casualty insurance, is usually like an annuity. You pay into the fund and eventually pull out what you've paid into it. Some draw upon the insurance immediately, others not for 50 years... or never. It's based on actuarial tables and the current (somewhat confidential) health information bank. Most of our health costs right now are caused by a majority of the populace completely ignorant about nutrition. They are creating their own chronic diseases in their bodies after decades of abusive lifestyles, deadly dietary patterns, societal stress, failure to exercise and breathing polluted air.
