Can there be any question as to the motive for filing this lawsuit?

We hope that the courts ruling will discourage others from recklessly making similar statements.

Looks like a bully pulpit to me...

dal - i am one of the John Does over on the other suit. there are two. the one I am on covers Lycos and RB. this other one we have no knowledge of and didn't really know it existed formally until the last day or so. it has no impact on me.

Recall that on June 25th IFTA issued a press release announcing it had filed a complaint against "Raging Bull.com" and "Lycos Terra Network, Inc" and "several individuals utilizing message boards for the purpose of posting various misleading and harmful information about Infotopia and its officers and directors." Problem is, neither of the two named entities actually legally exists. Had they sued "Raging Bull, Inc." and "Lycos, Inc. " (or did they mean to sue "Terra Lycos" or "Terra Networks"?) perhaps today's 2pm meeting might have actually taken place. Instead, both names are no longer associated with the lawsuit. Oops!
