The bright side is with the new disclosure rules in place it may not make the big of difference.

My impression is that nothing has changed much as a result of Regulation FD. Executive management teams are having private conversations with analysts regularly and the level of detail resulting from those conversations appears to be greater than the detail discussed more publicly. And there has been no attempt to enforce the regulation.

I doubt very seriously that the regulation affects Qualcomm's relationship with analysts. As an example, notice that there is no conference call relating to the decision to cancel Spinco. The press release gave no reason for the decision to cancel. Yet the cancellation flies in the face of a comment made (I think by Dr. J but I'm not sure) a few months ago that the combination of Qualcomm and Spinco positions the company to be the Microsoft and Intel of the wireless world. If Dr. J agrees with me about the importance of Gorilla Gaming, I don't understand how he could feel that the decision to cancel the spin-off leaves Qualcomm in as strong a position as having Spinco operating as a separate entity.
