ROFL Are we doing the Madonna Whore thing again? Sexual innuendo- only for MEN, and whores? I am so tired of that. You'd THINK mothers and teachers get to be people too. I would hate to be taught only by prim fussy virgins who didn't appreciate humor, sexual or otherwise. On the other hand I wouldn't allow cussing in my class. Life is all about doing the appropriate thing in the appropriate place. . As far as I can see the net as always been a sexual sandbox primarily for men. They LOVE sexual innuendo if it gratifies their huge male egos. They just don't like it when it is used to insult them. Which I can understand. No one likes to be insulted, and it is especially galling when the insult has a grain of TRUTH. That's my take on it anyway. I know teachers who cuss blue streaks. I don't do that merely because I worry about getting in the habit. But those teachers are GREAT!! And they don't cuss in class. The days are long passed when the behavior of teachers had to be better than that of everyone else. For one thing teaching doesn't PAY enough to allow districts to demand much of anything from the people who choose to teach as a profession. If the schools get smart teachers they better not care much about what else they do- as long as they abide by the law. Some people would probably prefer teachers who are virgins to teachers who are clever. For those people there are Catholic schools.
