Daryl,
My illogical feeling is that the screwed up election of 2000 along with Mr. Softee pushed us over the cliff. Screwed up election cost us Christmas sales. Otherwise things might have been different.. mike

Hi Daryl,

Good point.

If Microsoft were in Japan it would be viewed as a national jewel - like Toyota is.

To diminsih their power is a display of politcals jealousy of power at an irresponsible level of disgust.

This was not a case of Standard oil buying the railroads and charging the competing oil companies more for transporting their oil than hauling their own. JMHO

At any rate it was time for the medicine to be ingested - better now than let it continue further uncontrolled.

Bob

RE: "MSFT...is the single largest engine that made America the greatest economic power in the world."

This is the modern day equivalent of "the earth is flat."

>>MSFT, for all their faults, is the single largest engine that made America the greatest economic power in the world.<<

I don't recall MSFT doing much to help this country in WW 1 or WW 11 or in developing our nuclear arsenal. The shareholders, of GM, F. BA, GE and a whole lot of other companies would take exception to your inflated views.

Regards, Jerome
